Smita Kadam – Visual Artist
I am Smita Kadam, a Pune-based visual artist with roots in Mumbai and a creative journey shaped by experiences across the globe. A graduate of Sir J.J. School of Art with a BFA in Interior Design, I began my career in spatial design before finding my true passion in painting.
Working in oil, watercolor, and mixed media, I often weave Indian folk art traditions into contemporary expression, creating works that balance detail, texture, and emotional depth. My portfolio includes vibrant portraits, nature studies, and intricate folk-inspired compositions, as well as custom commissions such as pet portraits.
My years in the United States broadened my artistic vision, connecting me with global audiences and new styles. I have participated in art competitions, exhibited locally and internationally, and a highlight of my journey was my portrait of Hema Malini being selected for Expometro’s Art Tunnel in Barcelona.
Through my work, I strive to create art that tells stories, bridges cultures, and leaves a lasting impression.
