Reimagining Burton’s jewellery and silversmithing 3D designs in 2D, the Dubai store of Jaipur Rugs features the latest collection - 'Woven Gems', a new line of pure silk rugs made by a team of 30 odd artisans across two workshops. Burton had worked with Jaipur Rugs on the collection until she passed away and the line was completed after her passing. A total of 90 individuals were involved in the full manufacturing process including weaving, dyeing, and finishing. The rugs take design inspiration from an exuberant wreath motif adorned with an effusion of botanical elements and aquatic life, designed by Jocelyn Burton.

The brand also recently expanded its retail presence in the UAE, an exclusive luxury collection is available in the brand's Dubai outlet. The scintillating store is designed to function as an immersive art gallery to showcase Jaipur Rugs’ designs.

According to Jocelyn Burton Studio’s managing director Ken Mannering,  “Having done some prominent work with an esteemed stone inlay atelier based in Jaipur, Jocelyn was introduced to Jaipur Rugs in 2018 through a mutual friend, and soon the idea was born of using Jocelyn’s jewellery and silverware designs as the basis of a collection of handmade rugs,” said Mannering to Indian Retailer Bureau. 📣 Follow us on Instagram | Twitter | LinkedIn and don't miss out on the latest updates from the Indian Art & Craft Industry!
